Riviera Maya Lures Luxury Show

Over 300 agents expected to attend

Questex Media Travel Group has selected the Riviera Maya as host destination for the Mexico Luxury Travel Expo, slated for June 22-24 at the Aventura Spa Palace.

“Mexico has always been steeped in luxury,” remarked John McMahon, show director and group publisher for the Luxury Travel Portfolio of Questex Media Group. “However, over the last few years, the growth of the upscale segment has warranted a show dedicated specifically to the Mexican luxury market.”

McMahon noted that launching an international show was a logical expansion of the company’s Luxury Travel Expo product. “This will be an opportunity for North American travel agents to meet in an intimate setting with Mexican upscale travel suppliers and experience the beautiful Riviera Maya. We look forward to presenting this new and exciting opportunity to advisors and suppliers alike.”

Mexico Luxury Travel Expo will provide an educational program for high-end travel agents, as well as a trade show comprised of Mexican luxury travel suppliers hotels, resorts, spa, golf, haciendas, regions and transportation companies.

Over 300 U.S. travel agents specializing in luxury and desiring more opportunities for their upscale clientele are expected to attend the expo. Other events will include evening receptions, networking opportunities, cocktails and VIP lounges.

“The Riviera Maya Tourism Promotion Board and Questex have agreed to closely cooperate and partner to ensure that only the highest level of professionalism will exist for the new luxury trade fair,” said Dario Flota, director of the Riviera Maya Tourism Promotion Board.

“We are delighted to work with our new partner, Questex Media, which brings a wealth of expertise to help us realize Mexico Luxury Travel Expo, which will be the first trade fair for the luxury travel industry in Riviera Maya and in Mexico.”

The Riviera Maya Tourism Promotion Board’s international marketing aim is to strengthen the region’s position as a leading luxury destination. “We want to become the number one (reference for the industry) in Mexico and the Caribbean,” added Flota.

In addition to its beautiful beaches and tourist attractions, Riviera Maya offers solid logistics and infrastructure as well as a high quality product for the upscale visitor.
