The Hacienda Xcanatun has introduced a four-day, three-night
Romantic Fantasy package. Once an 18th-century sisal plantation,
Hacienda Xcanatun now operates as a colonial boutique hotel with 18
accommodations, gourmet restaurant, two swimming pools and a
sybaritic spa offering holistic Maya and beauty treatments.
The Fantasy package includes three nights in a luxurious suite
with a private veranda slung with hammocks. Daily breakfast, a
bottle of fine wine and a selection of dark Yucatecan chocolates,
roundtrip Merida airport transfers, taxes and hotel service charges
are also included.
The hacienda’s landmark restaurant, where Presidents Bush and
Calderon dined in March, will host an intimate candlelight dinner
for guests as part of the package as well.
Two free treatments at the onsite spa are also included. The
newest Maya specialty offered at the spa is the combination sobada
massage and limpia (spiritual cleansing). All holistic treatments
are performed by a granddaughter of a noted shaman who combines
contemporary techniques with healing rituals.
The hacienda boasts acres of gardens of native plants and
flowers with a Maya palapa in the center where guests can hold a
Maya wedding or vow renewal ceremony for $180. Guests can also opt
to golf on a new Jack Nicklaus championship course (opening in
December) for about $100 per round.
The package is priced at $1,250, per couple, through Sept. 30,
and $1,375 through Oct. 1-Dec. 15 and Jan. 8-April 31, 2008.
