Ryan McGredy, president and managing owner of Moraga Travel in Moraga, Calif. received ASTA’s Young Professional Award at the company’s Travel Retailing & Destination Expo in Las Vegas this month.

“Although Ryan has been a member of ASTA for a relatively short time, he has shown tremendous leadership and a desire to engage the industry’s young professionals in becoming the leaders of tomorrow,” said Tony Gonchar, ASTA CEO. “He is a true believer in ASTA and a savvy businessman whose personal drive and commitment serve as an example to others of how today’s young professional can positively shape the future of our industry.”

McGredy became involved in Moraga Travel as a minority owner in 2007 and, later, bought the majority stake in the company. McGredy has since created Contact Beacon, an email marketing system for travel agents, and is highly involved in committees for both Ensemble and ASTA. He was recently elected vice president of ASTA’s Northern California chapter and serves on ASTA’s Young Professional Society (YPS) committee.
