America’s Vacation Center (AVC) is committing $1 million to travel agents with the launch of its Travel Agent Stimulus Plan, a program designed to assist professional sellers of travel.
The money, to be spent by April 30, will help decrease the startup costs for professionals starting their own agencies as well as increase AVC’s consumer marketing efforts to generate more live leads for the company’s network of independent affiliates. The plan also includes funding for live agency support that involves selling advantages, training, access to Agent Power technology, a personalized consumer Web site and brand recognition with American Express Travel.
"The goal of the [plan] is to show support for the travel agency community by improving the odds of being successful in today’s economy," said Brad Anderson, AVC co-president. "At America’s Vacation Center, we are blessed to be having a stellar 2009, and we want to share that success with other travel professionals."
