The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) will hold its 13th Global Summit in Abu Dhabi in April/May of 2013. WTTC’s decision was based on the accessibility of the destination, the enthusiasm of government and industry agencies, Abu Dhabi’s high standard of capability and the destination’s green tourism strategies. Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and Etihad Airways will be official hosts of the annual event.
“I’m very pleased that Abu Dhabi will host our 2013 Global Summit. With its distinctive Arabian hospitality and world-class infrastructure, Abu Dhabi will be an enchanting destination for our top-level delegates,” said David Scowsill, president and CEO of the WTTC. “Our Global Summit is the most influential travel and tourism event of the year, bringing together almost 1,000 industry leaders to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing travel and tourism today.”
The 2012 Global Summit will take place in Tokyo and Sendai, Japan, on April 16-19. www.wttc.org
