American Express Honors Travelink

At the annual American Express Representative Travel Network National Summit, held in San Diego, Calif., on Oct. 16-19, American Express Travel named Travelink the Travel Agency of the Year for 2011. The award honors the travel agency that has best represented the industry in customer advocacy, business development and innovation, also taking into consideration how the agency has advanced the status of the American Express Representative Network in the industry.

“The Travelink team continues to go beyond our expectations with the service they provide to their clients,” said Ellen Bettridge, vice president of the American Express U.S. Retail Travel Network. “We’re proud to honor Travelink with the Representative Travel Agency of the Year award, and we are very fortunate to have them as a part of our Network.”

During a special presentation at the conference, Bettridge presented the award to Michael Dixon, Bill Haire and Linda Raymer of Travelink. The agency offers business travel management, vacation travel services and travel related financial services to individuals and businesses that range from Fortune 100 corporations to entrepreneurial businesses and nonprofit organizations.

“American Express has been a tremendous partner for us,” said Dixon. “I’m convinced that American Express has been a key driver in our success, especially during the very turbulent recent economic times. The award was a pleasant surprise and we will continue to work diligently to be deserving of such an honor.”
