Alberta Winter Train group
Anderson Vacations partnered with Travel Alberta to offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience to some of their preferred travel agent partners. Agents were invited to ride the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver, B.C., to Whistler, B.C., during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games held in Vancouver. The Rocky Mountaineer offers 360-degree views via a glass-domed roof, meals made to order — and on this journey — an open bar.
“I would like to thank Anderson Vacations, Rocky Mountaineer and Travel Alberta for sharing with me a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Sue Urie, business development manager for Western Canada — Vacations.com.
Two sales managers from Anderson Vacations were also onboard to host the agents, and the experience was certainly not lost on them.
“Having experienced many forms of travel, the Rocky Mountaineer was truly one of the most magical and pampered ways to travel,” said Katrina Ball, Eastern Canada sales manager for Anderson Vacations. “The spectacular, breathtaking views you passed only complemented the overall experience to a point beyond description … truly a monumental, once-in-a-lifetime experience that will never be forgotten.”
Besides travel industry delegates, passengers onboard the train ranged from government officials and prominent Alberta businessmen to Olympic Gold Medalist Katarina Witt and Alberta country singer Aaron Lines.
