On Saturday, Oct. 6, the Outside Sales Support Network (OSSN) chapters throughout Southern California hosted a day-long, hands-on travel agent training event in Burbank, Calif. The event, designed to help agents learn how to increase sales, featured sales presentations by business development representatives from Princess Cruises, Costa Rica Dream Adventures, Barbados Tourism Authority and Goway Travel.
The morning presentations, which provided valuable selling tips for agents, were followed by a lunch hosted by Vintage Burbank, a senior living facility, and a wine tasting hosted by Frey Vineyards, one of the first biodynamic and organic wineries in the U.S.
The program concluded with a seminar on “Online Marketing for Small Businesses” by TravelAge West’s Online Editor Monica Poling, who helped agents define their marketing needs and provided information on affordable marketing tools for small businesses.
