CEO Names Celebrity Silhouette

Michelle Morgan, CEO of Signature Travel Network, served as godmother for the Celebrity Silhouette at the ship’s launching in Hamburg, Germany, on July 21. The Silhouette is the fourth Solstice-class ship launched by Celebrity Cruises.

At the naming ceremony, Richard Fain, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd., introduced Morgan.

“The bulk of our business comes from travel agents, and they remain, and will remain, our key selling partners,” said Fain. “Having a leading representative of our travel partners is a particularly gratifying symbol to us.”

After a video commemorated Morgan’s love of family, success in business and victory over breast cancer, she was joined on stage by the three other Solstice godmothers, all breast cancer survivors, as an aerialist floated through the crowd to present Morgan with a long, red ribbon. Morgan then snipped the ribbon with a pair of scissors used in the inaugural ceremonies of the Silhouette’s three Solstice sister ships.
