“Enchantment is in the Air” — New Mexico’s float entry in the New Years Day Tournament of Roses Parade — won the coveted Grand Marshal’s Trophy for its creative concept and design, which incorporated some of the states most iconic elements and more than 50,000 roses.

“This was a fabulous experience and an incredible honor for the citizens of New Mexico,” said Michael Cerletti, secretary of the New Mexico Tourism Department. “We thank our sponsors, the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau, Las Cruces Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Town of Taos, the City of Gallup, Red Rock Balloon Rally, Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino, New Mexico State Parks and El Pinto Foods.”

Float riders included actor Bryan Cranston, from “Breaking Bad,” AMC’s drama series that is filmed in Albuquerque; Christina Olmi, Miss Mew Mexico 2008; Lauren Ivy Aguilar, an employee of New Mexico State Parks; and Mackenzie Brabson, Little Miss New Mexico.
