Flight Centre Limited expands
Flight Centre Limited (FLT) is expanding its U.S. corporate travel presence. The new strategy will see FLT relocate management of its existing U.S. corporate travel business, FCm Travel Solutions, from Vancouver to Chicago; launch a second brand, Liberty Business Travel, to leverage off the iconic Liberty leisure travel brand and focus on smaller corporate accounts; and restructure its loss-making California leisure travel business.
"At a time when many businesses are downsizing, our corporate travel business is embarking on a growth trajectory with a new U.S. base, a new brand and a larger overall salesforce," said Dean Smith, Flight Centre USA president.
The program will see the company shift its focus in California from a pure leisure travel offering to the mixed Liberty Business Travel model, which actively targets corporate and leisure customers.
"Combined with our FCm outlets in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Boston and Chicago, we have the foundations for a strong nationwide corporate travel platform," said Smith.
