The Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau recently completed a two-week road show through the West Coast. More than 700 travel agents meet with 25 Hawaii suppliers for some or all of the events, which took place from Sept. 10 through 21 and reached travel agents in Carlsbad, Calif.; Palos Verdes, Calif.; Westlake Village, Calif.; Sacramento; San Jose, Calif.; San Francisco; Portland; Bellingham, Wash.; and Seattle.
The HVCB and suppliers — including airlines, tour operators, hotels and Hawaii attractions — shared product updates. Apple Vacations, Honua Kai, Aulani-A Disney Resort & Spa, Alaska Airlines, the Polynesia Cultural Center, Travel Impressions and Outrigger Enterprises were among the participants.
According to Julie Zadeh, managing director of travel trade marketing for Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau, travel agents reported strong interest in the Hawaiian Islands from their clients.
“Air fares are looking more competitive for the fall and there is great value from our supplier partners,” said Zadeh. “This is a great time to be selling and marketing the Hawaiian Islands.”
