On the heels of debuting Crystal Symphony’s multimillion-dollar renovation, Crystal Cruises brought 147 top-grossing travel agents onboard the Crystal Serenity for the 22nd annual Sales Achievement Awards Gala. During the cruise from Istanbul, Turkey, to Athens, Greece, travel agents met with Crystal’s top executives, who shared the latest product news and announcements.
“Crystal is introducing a number of new enhancements for service and programming, which will appeal to both new and existing customers, such as Fast Track Check-In service as well as a Local Insights program that will bring dignitaries and experts onboard to engage with passengers,” said Greg Nacco, vice president of Cruise Specialists of Novato, Calif., one of Crystal’s top 15 producers.
According to Jack Anderson, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Crystal is targeting a younger clientele with shorter itineraries, a “Begin a New Story” advertising campaign, an iPhone app that allows cruisers to edit and share photos, a new all-inclusive plan and more.
The line also announced that, in 2013 it will offer 25 percent more port days than this year (including cruises without any days at sea) and add 16 maiden calls to its roster, including Langkawi, Malaysia; Salaverry, Peru; Manta, Ecuador; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Canakkale, Turkey. In 2015, Crystal will launch its first full circumnavigation of the globe, an epic 108-day cruise, sailing roundtrip from Miami.
