El Conquistador Resort, The Waldorf Astoria Collection has appointed industry veteran Dermot Connolly as its managing director. Connolly has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry and will be charged with overseeing all of the resort’s many amenities, in addition to managing daily operations at the El Conquistador Resort and its sister property, Las Casitas Resort, The Waldorf Astoria Collection.
“I feel honored to become part of such an elite hotel,” said Connolly. “Having recently received the AAA Four-Diamond Award for the second consecutive year under the Waldorf Astoria flag, I know that I’ve just joined one of the best resorts in the Caribbean, and I look forward to maintaining and enhancing the property’s high standards.”
Prior to joining El Conquistador Resort, Connolly was the general manager at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica. During his tenure at this 488-room family resort and waterpark, Connolly managed and oversaw an extensive $40 million renovation.
