Los Angeles officials and project partners attended the preview gala.
On June 20, Westfield hosted a Preview Gala to showcase the new Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), a major project for the city that is scheduled to be completed later this year. The new TBIT is the centerpiece of the $4.1 billion LAX Capital Improvements Program-Phase 1.
Attendees of the gala saw the premiere of the 72-foot-tall digital Time Tower and heard an original symphonic overture performed by the Hollywood Scoring Orchestra, called “Portale – A Symphonic Poem,” composed by Emmanuel Fratianni and Laurie Robinson. The event also introduced the terminal’s new dining and shopping features.
“The Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX is the first and last impression that 9 million travelers have of Los Angeles every year,” said Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. “This new terminal enhances passenger safety and security, while giving travelers the first-class airport experience they expect from a world-class city like Los Angeles.”
