Travel agent members of four Southern California chapters of the Outside Sales Support Network (OSSN) gathered together to attend the third annual OSSN SoCal Hands-On Training Day. Held at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, in Cabazon, Calif., on Jan. 25, the event connected 50 OSSN members and 25 travel vendors for a day of online training and networking.

Members from the Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire and San Diego chapters of OSSN attended the program to participate in hands-on training with six vendors, including a CLIA course for credit. Dr. Marc Mancini, who writes TravelAge West's popular Geo Quiz, was the keynote speaker and event emcee, and Anita Pagliasso, western regional manager of OSSN, served as the event moderator.

The day-long program included a trade show featuring some 19 suppliers, including TravelAge West. Agents also enjoyed an evening program that included a humorous Q&A session with Alison Arngrim, who played Nellie Olson on the classic television show "Little House on the Prairie," and who recently released her autobiography.

Emmy Award-winning actor Dorian Harewood topped off the evening by sharing with agents some of the secrets behind his Strictly Black Jack Method of Winning Without Counting.

The event was organized by Paula Mitchell Manning, chair of the Los Angeles Chapter of OSSN, in conjunction with Lei Gonzales, San Diego Chapter; Mary Ann Mari, Inland Empire Chapter; and Wally Summer, Orange County Chapter.
