The urban jungle just got a little wilder. South Africa Tourism premiered its debut film “Wild Safari 3D: A South African Adventure” in New York City(shown above) and Los Angeles. Dr. Felicia Suttle, newly appointed president of South Africa Tourism presided over the event. As part of a new marketing campaign, South Africa Tourism has sponsored a new documentary-styled motion
picture that takes audiences on a 3D, IMAX journey through South Africa’s national parks. Audience members get a first person perspective as they explore the South African countryside in search of the illusive “Big Five”: elephants, cape buffalos, rhinos, leopards and lions.





OSGOOD HONORED

Elaine Osgood, president of Atlas Travel International, was named “Top Women Business Builder.” The competition, seeking the best businesses in North America, was sponsored by Fast Company magazine. The award was presented at the Women President’s Organization annual meeting in April.



ORTLOFF NEW GM AT WESTIN

Sig K. Ortloff has been named general manager of the Westin Casaurina Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas. Previously, Ortloff worked at Le Merigot Beach Hotel & Spa in Santa Monica, Calif. He has more than 30 years of experience in upscale hospitality venues worldwide.

Ortloff is currently responsible for overseeing the hotel, food and beverage, meetings, casino, spa and fitness facilities at the property. He supervises more than 700 staff members.





DUNWOODY RETURNS TO HAL

Charlie Dunwoodyhas been named western division sales director for Holland America Line. Most recently, Dunwoody was senior vice president for Cruise Holidays in Minneapolis, Minn., and before that was director, national accounts for HAL.
In his 23 years in the travel industry, Dunwoody has worked for Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Pan American World Airways.



PHILLIPS AND WATZKA PROMOTED

Marriott Vacation Club has promoted Bill Phillips and Peter Watzka to executive vice president positions.

As executive vice president of resort development, Phillips is now responsible for worldwide development, feasibility, business planning and sales center development.



Watzka, as chief customer officer and executive vice president, leads all disciplines related to customer interaction from sales and marketing and operations to owner services for the division.
