Travel deals abound for China

Among the many travel deals being offered to China:

China International Travel Service is offering several discounted land-and-cruise itineraries starting at $185 for five-days in Beijing. Air is not included.

R&J International Travel is offering roundtrip airfare to Beijing or Shanghai (from Seattle or Portland, Ore.) on United Airlines for $515 weekdays. Book by Aug. 12. R&J is also offering a pack-age to Shanghai including three nights at a five-star hotel and roundtrip travel on Air China from San Francisco or LAX starting at $659, available through Aug. 28.

China Discovery Tours is offering an 11-day, five-city tour of China starting at $999, including air from Los Angeles, accommodations, meals and guided tours. 866-992-4462. is offering three nights in Beijing, combined with three nights on a Yangtze River cruise starting at $1,199, including air, some meals, ac-commodations, and shore excursions.

China travelers holding boarding passes from any of the four top domestic airlines (Air China, China Southern, China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines) will receive a 40 percent discount on room rates, and free daily breakfasts, at Shangri-La’s 16 hotels. In addition, guests at Shangri-La or Traders hotels can earn a fourth night free, and other benefits, such as room upgrades, massage services, and meal credits. Available through Aug. 31.

Sita World Travel is offering several China promotions, including a seven-day trip to Beijing starting at $995 including air on Asiana Airlines from LAX or San Francisco, breakfast, local guides and entry to attractions.

Pacific Delight Tours is offering seven-days in Beijing or Shanghai, including air on Northwest from LAX, five nights hotel, some meals and local guides, starting at $660.

Ritz Tours is offering an early bird discount of up to $400 per couple on next year’s “China & Yangtze River” and “China & Asia” itineraries. Bookings must be made by Dec. 23 at least 45 days before departure.


Travel agents throughout the West are being invited to events hosted by the China National Tourist Office. The events will include a mini trade show, recep-tion and dinner.
