Visitors to Puerto Vallarta will notice a number of new enhancements at the city’s hotels this year, and more are expected.

Here’s an outline of new renovations planned at Puerto Vallarta hotels, according to the city’s Fideicomiso de Turismo:

At the Fiesta Americana Hotel, a newly constructed swimming pool and beach area are scheduled to open this year, as well as new business meeting facilities. (

The Casa Magna Marriott’s $2.5 million guestroom renovations are expected to be finished by August. The hotel has also unveiled a new location for smaller wedding ceremonies (less than 50 people) called “The Jetty” at the edge of a cliff overlooking Bandaras Bay. On-site wedding planners and new wedding and honeymoon packages are available. (

The Holiday Inn Puerto Vallarta has a newly remodeled exterior that includes a refurbished pool area. Indoors, the cocktail lounges, restaurants and lobby have a new fresh decor. This hotel has also added a new Kid’s Club with an indoor play area, arts and crafts, entertainment and a children’s pool. There’s also a spacious home theater, and an arcade for juniors. (

The Hotel NH Krystal recently opened a new section of 128 oceanfront rooms called the “NH Krystal Club.” The section includes concierge services, daily continental breakfast and hors d’oeuvres and cocktails at sunset. The hotel also added a new oceanfront restaurant, Las Velas, and next door the club Christine Disco has also been renovated. (

The all-inclusive Sol Melia Puerto Vallarta is scheduled to add a new palapa for evening shows, and the Vitrales a la Carte restaurant has been redecorated. The Los Azulejos restaurant now offers an alternative to the a la carte dinner. Several new amenities have been added for families, included a new pool for small children, 30 more family guestrooms with bunk beds, and a new kid’s Eco Club featuring tree planting, arts and crafts, a vegetable garden and science projects. Three new meeting rooms have also been added for groups and conventions. (
