Last month, representatives from Travel Alberta and the Calgary Stampede brought a little bit of the Wild West to Southern California when they hosted an event at a hockey game between the Anaheim Ducks and the Calgary Flames at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. A giant tent was set up just outside the stadium where fans could play Western-themed games, win prizes, take photos and ride a mechanical bull, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede. Tourism officials, along with the Stampede Queen and her court, also hosted media and industry VIPs in a luxury box during the game, which was won by Anaheim, 3-2.
