The resort reopens after undergoing repair from Cyclone Oli

The St. Regis Bora Bora recently appointed Michael Schoonewagen as general manager. Schoonewagen’s appointment coincides with the reopening of the resort this month. The St. Regis Bora Bora was closed and undergoing repairs following minor damage suffered after the passage of Cyclone Oli through French Polynesia last February.

An avid globetrotter, Schoonewagen brings ample experience to the five-star luxury hotel management and has worked in top establishments in Monte Carlo, St.-Tropez, Lyon, The Comores and Paris, France; as well as Moscow; Madeira and the Algarve, Potugal; as well as Mauritius. He has also lived in South Africa, where he was born, as well as Madagascar, and the Netherlands. Prior to joining the St. Regis Bora Bora, Schoonewagen was general manager at the Royal Mougins Golf, Resort and Spa in Mougins, France.
