Starwood Hotels & Resorts recently honored Becky Kangas, a travel agent for AAA Washington, with 25,000 Starwood Preferred Guest Points. Kangas was the 25,000th travel professional to complete Module 1 of ProLearning, Starwood’s learning and development portfolio.

“For our nine brands and all of our properties worldwide, this means an army of dedicated, educated travel professionals have completed our first module of ProLearning, focused on loyalty and brands,” said Chris Austin, vice president of global, retail, leisure and luxury sales. “We believe StarwoodPro graduates are now better equipped to qualify and satisfy their customers and better equipped to assure that they match them with the right Starwood property among our more than 1,000 hotels in 100 countries around the world.”

Kangas, a relatively new travel agent, previously worked in hospitality. She has been with AAA for nearly a year and completed Module 1 in order to better serve her clients.

“I took the course to better familiarize myself with the variety of Starwood properties and to understand how to really match the various brands with my client’s needs,” said Kangas. “Starwood has such a wide array of options. The course was really simple and helped me understand what each brand wanted to do for its guests, which makes it easier for me when I am selling to my clients.”
