The Mills, one of the Simon Property Group’s real estate platforms, has appointed Stephanie Torr as its corporate director of tourism. In her new position, Torr will be working strategically to develop domestic and international tourism programs in order to promote the Mills’ shopping destinations in major metropolitan U.S. markets. She will also negotiate alliances with hotels, airlines, rental car companies and other businesses associated with the industry.
“Tourism is a vital part of our marketing strategy and Stephanie’s experience will be a great asset to the ongoing success of The Mills,” said Kelly Mikesell, The Mills’ vice president of marketing.
Torr joins The Mills with almost 30 years of experience in tourism. Beginning her career as regional editor of Home & Away travel magazine for the AAA Hoosier Club in Indianapolis, she has amassed sales and management experience at a number of companies, including the Indianapolis Star Media Group, The Saturday Evening Post, Caesars Entertainment and, most recently, The Hagerman Group.
