Fam attendees hosted 600 schoolchildren at a Cape Town theme park.
By The Travel Corporation (TTC) — composed of a number of leading global touring, cruising and hotel brands including Contiki Vacations, Trafalgar, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, Insight Vacations and Brendan Vacations — recently hosted a week-long fam and conference designed to further establish South Africa’s profile as a leading year-round vacation destination. The TTC conference focused on the theme “We Are Family” and sought to make lasting connections among South African Tourism, TTC and the residents of South Africa.
“We are going out of our way to support South Africa, which is an important destination for global tourism and is also our home nation,” said Gavin Tollman, chairman of The Travel Corporation. “We want to ensure that leaders of the travel trade — who significantly influence traveler movements — are able to experience South Africa for themselves.”
In addition to participating in business meetings, conference delegates helped build a total of 21 houses for disadvantaged families in Cape Town’s surrounding townships, as well as hosted 600 schoolchildren at a local theme park.
