On February 22, Travel Leaders hosted approximately 50 of its top agency members on an exclusive Globus Cuba Experience, a person-to-person educational exchange program sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Treasury. The trip celebrated agencies that achieved 20 million or more in annual sales volume. The program commenced following the organization’s Leaders Meeting.

“As an increasing number of our clients are expressing interest in traveling to Cuba, we want to ensure that our agent owners thoroughly understand the options they can legally offer,” said Travel Leaders’ franchise group president Roger E. Block. “We are very proud to partner with Globus in providing our top travel experts with this rare opportunity to experience Cuba as few others have experienced it. Through this enriching educational exchange, we hope to foster a greater awareness among our agents for what their clients could potentially expect when visiting Havana and other Cuban destinations that are already popular with visitors from abroad.”

Highlights of the Globus Cuba Experience included a trip through the center of Cuba’s sugar cane-producing region, an interactive lesson on Cuban dance, a visit to a print and binding shop to observe workers continue their traditional craft by hand and dinner at the landmark Hotel Nacional de Cuba — a symbol of Cuban identity, history and culture.
