Last month, Northstar Travel Media’s Los Angeles office (including staff members from TravelAge West) participated in the 27th annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles. The community event raised more than $3 million for AIDS Project Los Angeles and other local AIDS service organizations. The funds will help provide urgently needed food, medical care, counseling, housing and other direct services to patients who depend on these programs.
“The staff at TravelAge West was truly excited to be able to participate in this year’s AIDS Walk,” said TAW Editor-in-Chief Kenneth Shapiro. “Not only was it a great team bonding experience, but we all feel strongly about the cause and are glad that we were able to support the event with our fundraising as well as through our own personal effort.”
The Northstar team walked in memory of colleague Matthew Sullivan, who passed away this March and was a supporter himself of the efforts of the Los Angeles AIDS Foundation.
