G Adventures, an independent, small-group adventure operator, has announced that all of its trips will be 100 percent guaranteed to depart beginning Jan. 1.
G Adventures’ founder, Bruce Poon Tip, said that the move demonstrates the company’s commitment to customer service and shows confidence in selling its program of trips, which has been expanded for 2013.
“Our goal is to put ideas in front of our customers and try to make their vacation better,” said Poon Tip. “We want them to be less stressed about booking their trip.”
Poon Tip believes that travelers — and travel agents — will be less stressed with departures that are guaranteed, meaning that agents can book their clients’ airfare immediately without having to wait for the trip to be confirmed. This saves clients money because they can book their airfare for less and farther out, and it also makes the experience more seamless.
“We want to make booking as easy as possible,” said Poon Tip. “Our goal is to think of innovative ways to make it easier for travel agents.”
Poon Tip wants G Adventures to lead the way in customer service and believes that its 100 percent guaranteed departures complements the company’s policy of lifetime deposits, which is a program developed two years ago by G Adventures and allows clients to put down a deposit on a trip and, if they choose not to take it, they can reuse the deposit on another trip or even regift the deposit to someone else who would like to travel with G Adventures.
In addition to guaranteeing departures, G Adventures recently revealed its 2013 lineup of tours. The coming year will feature 12 new countries for the tour operator and an expansion of its Local Living program.
The company’s expanded roster of more than 730 tours includes trips to Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Croatia, Iceland, Scotland, Montenegro, Sweden, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Albania and Serbia. A variety of new tours are featured in the company’s Earth brochure, which will be available to travel agents in mid-October.
