Trafalgar Tours has introduced a brand-new, eight-day Family Experience in Costa Rica, called Monkeys, Jungles and Volcanoes, for 2011, priced from $1,229, based on double occupancy.
Classic Journeys will begin offering a seven-day Montenegro — Adriatic Treasure tour beginning in May 2011, priced from $3,895 per person, based on double occupancy.
Baobab Expeditions is offering a 10-day Great Migration Tour in Kenya, allowing clients to observe the migration of thousands of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles and more.
Boundless Journeys is offering a 10-day Palau Oceania Odyssey that includes sea kayaking, snorkeling and hiking throughout Palau’s many islands and ecosystems.
China Discovery Tours is offering a brand-new 12-day Taiwan Discovery tour for 2011 and 2012, which includes three nights in Taipei.
Collette Debuts New Tours, New Brand
Collette Vacations recently released details of its new tours for 2011, in addition to launching Explorations, a small-group touring brand. New escorted tours for Collette include the 13-day Cruising the Greek Islands With Turkey; the 13-day Cruising the Best of Scandinavia; and the nine-day Discover Panama: The Land Between the Seas. Two new tour itineraries include the 13-day Spain’s Costa del Sol & Portugal’s Riviera and the 13-day Israel & Jordan tour.
Collette has also updated its policies to allow any passenger who has purchased a pre- or post-trip night stay with Collette to also purchase a transfer to the hotel.
Globus Savings in 2011
Globus recently announced its 2011-2012 tours to Italy and South America.
In Italy, Globus offers 13 tours, and it is bringing back the 10-day Northern Italy’s Highlights & Cinque Terre tour, priced from $1,289 per person, based on double occupancy. Also returning is the eight-day Umbria’s Treasures, priced from $1,479 per person, based on double occupancy. Through Nov. 30, clients who pay in full for any air-inclusive Italy or Spain vacation for travel through Jan. 1 to Oct. 31, 2011, will receive a $500 discount per person.
In Central and South America, Globus offers tours in Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay and Guatemala. Clients who book an air-inclusive Central or South America 2011 tour by Oct. 12 will receive a $300 discount.
Fall Deals at Pan Pacific Journeys
Pan Pacific Journeys is offering a number of fall and winter specials for travel to China. For weekly arrivals in Beijing from Nov. 5 through March 25, 2011, Pan Pacific is offering a package priced at $141 per person, double occupancy, that includes hotel accommodations for four nights; four American breakfasts; roundtrip transfers; and more. Clients who wish to extend their trip to Shanghai can also purchase an extension for $416 per person, based on double occupancy.

New China Tour Operator Debuts in U.S.
Tour operator Wendy Wu Tours recently began operations in the North American market, offering tours to China. The tour operator, which has already seen success in the U.K. and Australia, features international airfare; three- and four-star hotel accommodations; three daily meals; intra-China airfare; daily tours; entrance fees; entertainment; English-speaking guides; a Wendy Wu’s China Manager escort; and $190 visa processing fee in each tour package price. For the U.S. market, Wendy Wu offers 14 group tours that range in length from 10 to 29 days, priced from $140 per person, per day. A 27-day China Highlights tour traveling to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Chengdu, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Guilin and a Li River cruise is priced from $3,790 per person, based on double occupancy. A 10-day China Experience tour is priced from $2,490 per person, based on double occupancy, visiting Shanghai, Wuzhen, Xian and Beijing. Eight private and customizable tours for small groups are also available, as are short stays and extensions.

Travel Bound’s Strong U.S. Market
New York-based travel wholesaler Travel Bound recently reported that its FIT bookings for U.S. hotel rooms through June 2010 increased at a rate of more than 70 percent over the same period last year, making the U.S. its number-one selling destination.
The company is also reporting positive response to its agent rewards program, Travel Bound Rewards, which was launched in mid-June. Through the program, agents can earn one dollar on their personal Travel Bound Rewards American Express card for each hotel night booked within the U.S. and Canada.
