Waikiki Beach Walk is at it again — this time the vibrant gathering place has added a Cheeseburger Beachwalk restaurant to its slew of offerings. Opened in the late fall, the 6,000-square-foot restaurant, located on the center’s second level, serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails and late-night snacks from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.

"Owners Laren Gartner and Edna Bayliff created a wonderful and successful concept when they opened their first [Cheeseburger] restaurant on Maui’s popular Front Street more than 20 years ago," said Barbara Campbell, vice president of retail development and leasing for Outrigger Enterprises Group, the developers of Waikiki Beach Walk. "We look forward to that success continuing at the Waikiki Beach Walk location."

The Cheeseburger Restaurants chain is best known for its gourmet burgers and fries, but the Cheeseburger Beachwalk might get nods for its expanded dinner menu of salmon, mahi mahi, top sirloin, rib-eye steak and pasta dishes — all exclusive to this location.

"With the number of hotels in the Waikiki Beach Walk area and the great foot traffic the location attracts, we thought it would be advantageous to offer a few additional entree choices for our customers," said Kunani Blake, general manager of Cheeseburger Beachwalk.

And don’t let the name fool you — there are plenty of choices for the vegetarian in your family, too.

Another thing to note: reservations are available, so families can avoid a long wait.
