Parents can maneuver through airports easier with the Travelmate.
It’s every parent’s nightmare. You’re at the airport, waiting in any one of a thousand lines, and you’ve got your carry-on bags, your kids’ bags, a stroller, a car seat — and a toddler on the verge of a breakdown. But, the Go-Go Babyz Gogo Kidz Travelmate, which turns a car seat into an easy-to-maneuver stroller in minutes, can alleviate some of the extra baggage of traveling with children. Also, once you’ve reached your final destination, there’s no need to rent or borrow a car seat. Cab rides are easy, because you already have a seat for your child. And, airlines recommend that children under 50 pounds have a safety seat.
On a recent trip to the Caribbean, I tested the Travelmate, and found it was easy to install, worked seamlessly on the plane and was comfortable for my daughter in-flight. It seemed that, since she was in a familiar space, she dozed off easier and faster too.
The Travelmate works like a dolly attached to the back of the seat with simple screws, and it weighs just five pounds. It has a telescoping handle with four positions for easy maneuverability and quick-release wheels for tight airplane aisles.
Car seats are too big for airplane aisles, so parents must carry kids to their seat. But there’s no reason to remove her from the Travelmate. Leave her in and attach the seat with the airplane seat belt.
The Kidz Travelmate works for children up to 50 pounds and with a wide variety of car seats. There are also helpful hints and instructions at the Go-Go Babyz Web site.
Parents can accessorize the Travelmate with a sunshade and use it as a stroller, but ultimately, its meant more for ease at the airport than anything else.
