ArtWalk Season Kicks Off in Puerto Vallarta

The ArtWalk is a self-guided tour of exhibitions in 15 participating galleries within walking distance of each other By: Claire Makepeace

Art lovers can feel right at home in Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town during its annual ArtWalk season, which kicked off this month and will be held every Wednesday through May 25, 2011. The ArtWalk is a self-guided tour of exhibitions in 15 participating galleries within walking distance of each other, and clients can also enjoy the views of the Bay of Banderas and quaint cobbled streets along the way. Both local and international artists are participating and, at the Artesanias Watakme gallery, a display is devoted to handmade crafts from the native Huichol tribe, including authentic yarn paintings, prayer bowls and beaded sculptures. On selected evenings, there will also be meet-and-greet sessions with featured artists.
