Hawaiian Airlines is making Maui more accessible for Bay Area travelers by launching nonstop service from both San Jose and Oakland in January 2012. Using wide-body twin-aisle Boeing 767-300 aircraft seating up to 264 passengers, the new flights will add more than 96,000 seats to Maui each year. The San Jose service begins Jan. 10 and runs three days weekly, while the Oakland flights start Jan. 11 and operate four days per week.
“We know how popular Maui is for Bay Area residents so our new nonstop service will let them make the most of their vacation, while relaxing with the most enjoyable inflight experience offered to Hawaii,” said Hawaiian’s senior vice president of marketing and sales Glenn Taniguchi. www.hawaiianairlines.com
