Participants from around the globe present dynamic performances during the 18th annual Honolulu Festival, designed to perpetuate the strong cultural ties among people in the Asia-Pacific region. At five locations from March 3-4, clients can catch exciting action by artists from Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Canada and the U.S. The main site at the Hawaii Convention Center is particularly fun, with two stages as well as arts and crafts booths, a children’s corner and a section dedicated to the popular Japanese art form of anime. All activities are free except for the Saturday evening Friendship Gala, featuring colorful presentations and tasty food from Hawaii’s top restaurants. Wrapping up the weekend is a spectacular 15-minute fireworks show from Nagaoka, Japan, filling the skies over Waikiki Beach. www.honolulufestival.com
