The China National Tourist Office (CNTO) has launched a completely redesigned website, CNTO.org, intended specifically for travelers from the U.S., in an effort to make information about traveling to China more accessible to American tourists and travel professionals.

With new sections on trip-planning (securing a visa, finding an airline, etc.), shopping, entertainment, cuisine and regional destinations, the site aims to help prospective travelers plan to get the most from their exploration of the country.

The site also highlights the most scenic and historically significant destinations throughout the country, including Beijing’s Temple of Heaven, Shanghai’s China Pavilion and the Great Wall. One area of the site, China 360°, includes photos of world-famous locales in China as well as the country’s native pandas. The CNTO has also announced plans to revise the site further in order to better showcase the country’s iconic sights. www.cnto.org
