Legoland Florida is kicking off 2013 with special events specifically geared toward families with children between the ages of 2 and 12 years old. In addition, families can enjoy even more hours of fun with the extended daily operating hours this year of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Special events for 2013 include the quarterly interactive Lego building competition, Junior Master Model Builder, which will take place with different themes May 4-5, July 4-5 and Nov. 9-10. Winners receive special prizes and will be invited to participate in the Ultimate Build Off at the end of the year. Lego Friends Weekend, on Feb. 9-10, is a daytime party for girls that includes a building event, entertainment, games, activities and more. The Legoland Water Park will reopen March 9 and run through the end of October, featuring the Build-A-Raft River, the Duplo Splash Safari, the Joker Soaker water playground, a wave pool and five waterslides. Kids’ New Year’s Eve lets the family bring in the New Year together, with a fireworks show, DJ dance party and a kid-friendly “midnight” Lego brick drop at 6 p.m. Other events throughout the year include Lego Star Wars Days in May; Red, Brick & Boom on the 4th of July; Brick-or-Treat on weekends in October; Christmas Bricktacular on weekends in December; Countdown to Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party and more.
All events are included with regular park admission. Families can now experience the park to the fullest with the new Legoland Florida Resident Pass, which starts at $10 per month after a down payment of $150 for adults and $129 for children. www.legoland.com
