Bishop Museum Touts 2013 Exhibits

What do dinosaurs, Legos and the Congressional Gold Medal have in common?

What do dinosaurs, Legos and the Congressional Gold Medal have in common? They are all subjects for special traveling exhibits slated for Oahu’s Bishop Museum throughout 2013.

On view through April 14 is “American Heroes,” whose artifacts include the medal awarded to Japanese-American World War II veterans in 2011. A look at dinosaurs and ice-age mammals runs from April 27 to Sept. 15, followed by the blockbuster children’s exhibit “Lego Travel Adventure” from Oct. 5 to Jan. 5, 2014.

In September, the museum is celebrating the grand reopening of Pacific Hall (formally Polynesian Hall) featuring a vast, permanent exhibit on the origins of Pacific islanders, showcased in a beautifully restored Victorian-era gallery. www.bishopmuseum.org
