Colorado Ski Country USA officially began turning chairs on Oct. 8, with the opening of Wolf Creek. Early snowstorms in Colorado dusted the state with plenty of snow for this unprecedented move by Wolf Creek, whose previous record opening was Oct. 26, 2007. The resort received 36 inches of new snow -- plenty to whet the appetites of skiers and snowboarders for the upcoming year.
Last season in Colorado, skiers and riders were able to hit the slopes for 10 months. This year’s early opening promises another great season ahead.
