On Jan. 19, Japan Airlines (JAL), filed for bankruptcy protection under the Corporate Reorganization Law of Japan. The airline has indicated plans to continue operating as it reorganizes its debt. However, some 15,600 jobs are expected to be cut and all board members have also voted to resign.
The Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) has indicated that it will continue processing JAL (JL/131) transactions, including sales, refunds and exchanges.
