At this Sunday’s Los Angeles Lakers basketball game against the Denver Nuggets, held at the Staples Center, the Beijing Tourism Administration hosted a post-game presentation for a select group of travel agents and industry officials. The presentation, aimed at encouraging U.S. agents to book clients on trips to Beijing, also included a special appearance by Lakers forward-center Pau Gasol, who competed in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics for the Spanish basketball team.

Earlier, during the basketball game, Zhang Huiguang, director general of the Beijing Tourism Administration, presented a lucky Lakers fan with a trip for two to Beijing, including roundtrip airfare and accommodations.

The post-game presentation included speeches from Zhang Yun, the Chinese consul general of Los Angeles; Huiguang; and Jean Claude Baumgarten, president of the World Travel and Tourism Council.
