Steve Garvey, Los Angeles Dodgers baseball legend; Joseph Aredas and Gina Marie Lindsey, Los Angeles World Airports; Dave Barger, JetBlue Airways; and a number of JetBlue Airways crewmembers and executives celebrated new service from LAX to the East Coast.

JetBlue Airways CEO Dave Barger, Los Angeles Dodgers legend Steve Garvey and musician Robin Thicke, among others, commemorated JetBlue’s inaugural flight from New York to Los Angeles with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and an online auction to benefit the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

The carrier will now offer twice-daily service from LAX to New York (departing at 12:50 p.m. and 10:40 p.m.) on Airbus A320 aircraft. Flights to Boston leave twice daily (with the exception of Saturdays) at 2:45 p.m. and 11:59 p.m.

“It is like returning to family,” said Kwan. “Pacific Delight sets the standard for quality, value and execution for luxury travel throughout Asia. I am excited to return and continue to establish new levels of sophistication for Pacific Delight Tours. Under my leadership, Pacific Delight will continue to be the standard.”

Previously, Kwan joined Pacific Delight Tours in 1973 as senior vice president. He worked with founder Francis Luk to build Pacific Delight’s reputation and shape the company. After his first tenure at Pacific Delight Tours, Kwan served as president of Far and Wide Tours’ Asia division. Most recently, he served as president of Travel Bound’s Asia division.

Jerry Pi, the former president of Pacific Delight, will return to the family real estate business to finish two major New York City development projects.
