Exploring China in the Fall With Ritz

Ritz Tours is offering a nine-day Scenic China Fall Special in September and October. Priced at $1,303 per person, based on double occupancy, tax excluded, this program takes travelers to four cities, staying in five-star accommodations and visiting landmarks such as the Great Wall of China and the beautiful village of Suzhou, known as the “Venice of the East.”

The Scenic China Fall Special package includes international airfare from Los Angeles, luxury hotel accommodations, sightseeing via air-conditioned motorcoaches, meals and sightseeing per the itinerary, the services of knowledgeable English-speaking tour guides and post-departure travel insurance if paid in full 60 days prior to departure. Departure dates are Sept. 8 and 22 and Oct. 13 and 20. A single supplement is available for an additional $400.

The tour begins by exploring Beijing for four days, visiting major attractions including the Forbidden City, the Palace Museum and the Summer Palace. Travelers can also put their hiking shoes on and trek the ancient steps of China’s Great Wall for a majestic view. Next on the itinerary, clients will board a flight to Hangzhou, the capital of Eastern China’s Zhejiang Province, where they will take a cruise on the West Lake.

The following morning, travelers will continue to nearby Suzhou, a village lined with canals, pagodas and classically designed gardens. There, clients can then discover the beauty of Lingering Garden, Hanshan Temple and Tiger Hill as well as visit a local silk factory to learn about the history and process of creating the delicate fabric. For the rest of the day, clients will cruise along the Grand Canal to view the peaceful waterside scenery.

The final three days of the tour will be spent on the Pearl of the Orient in Shanghai. Once in Shanghai, travelers will be offered a city tour that includes a visit to the City God Temple Bazaar and take leisurely strolls along the Bund. The Shanghai Museum is another great stop, featuring more than 120,000 pieces of ancient Chinese art and antiques for history buffs and museum-goers alike.
