Grand Oasis Cancun Focuses on Entertainment
The Cancun Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has launched its 2010 marketing campaign, Cancun and the Treasures of the Caribbean. The marketing strategy will focus on Cancun’s diversity as a tourism destination and highlight a variety of options including fashion, adventure, eco-tourism and gastronomy. Perhaps inspired by the success of the Riviera Maya, the Cancun CVB will extend its marketing efforts to include the region’s surrounding islands and destinations, such as Holbox Island, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Contoy and Puerto Morelos. Holbox Island offers visitors contact with the world’s largest fish, the Whale Shark; Contoy Island has more than 150 types of birds; Cozumel is a mecca for scuba enthusiasts; Isla Mujeres is a picturesque fishing island; and Puerto Morelos is the oldest port in Quintana Roo. www.cancun.travel
