Travel2 and Islands in the Sun to Pay Air Taxes on their Vacation Packages
Wholesaler Travel2 and its sister brand, Islands in the Sun will pay all international air taxes for vacation packages to the South Pacific and Asia through Aug. 28.
“We wanted to take some of the sting out of those pesky airline taxes that really annoy today’s travelers,” said Mark Punshon, vice president of sales for Travel2.
“We offered the same deal last summer and it really took off,” he added. “I think a lot of travelers got a financial and emotional kick out of flying tax free, almost like thumbing your nose at politicians as you jet across the Pacific.”
The Fly Me Tax Free special is good for all new bookings including international air and a minimum of eight nights in a hotel. The deal applies to travel any time, but cannot be combined with other offers.

Globus Family of Brands Announces Savings on Summer 2010 Trips to Europe The Globus Family of Brands is offering up to $1,000 in savings per couple for summer 2010 trips with its Globus and Cosmos brands.
“We know many vacation-deprived travelers are gearing up to get away in 2010 and we’re providing them more ways to stretch their travel dollars abroad,” said Scott Nisbet, president and CEO of the Globus Family of Brands. “We’re alerting agents of 2010 European savings early to allow them to share great pricing with clients already planning next year’s escape.”
Though itineraries will not be officially revealed until October, the company is advertizing savings of up to $695 per couple in Italy, $495 per couple in France, $510 per couple in Central and Eastern Europe and more than $1,000 per couple in Britain and Ireland. Agents who book a 2010 group of 10 before Sept. 1 can secure another group that will travel free, with up to four groups traveling free.
Agents who book a group of 10 or more before Sept.1 can also earn a $300 bonus, while those who book a group of eight or nine can earn a $150 bonus before Sept. 1.
