This month, Air China launched its second daily nonstop flight between Los Angeles and Beijing. To celebrate the flight’s inauguration, Air China held an event at LAX greeting the Boeing 747-400 upon its 11 a.m. arrival.
“The additional service between our two cities reaffirms the close ties between our countries,” said Ambassador Zhang in his speech at Terminal 2 at LAX. “It is our hope that this will also serve to promote a closer exchange between the U.S. and China — not only in trade but also among our people.”
The California Plaza, in downtown Los Angeles, hosted the evening celebration in which representatives, agents and travel partners enjoyed dim sum, a fashion show that featured Air China’s staff and crew members’ new uniforms as well as a special performance by musician Kenny G.
Other highlights of the event included the opportunity to sample Air China’s new flat-bed, business-class seats.
