On Jan. 15, family-owned host agency Avoya Travel celebrated its 50th anniversary with a large gala honoring founders Pat and Pal Anderson.
Before the evening gala, supplier partners were invited to the Vista, Calif., headquarters, where the majority of Avoya’s staff of 150 work. Following the office visit were presentations, including one panel session with the President’s Circle, Avoya’s new group of 17 Independent Affiliates who sell more than $2 million in travel.
During another session, executive vice president Jeff Anderson revealed another cause for celebration: 2013 was the best year in company history. Last year, Avoya achieved huge hiring increases as well as major sales growth in product, including an increase of 25 percent in cruise sales, which remains the agency’s biggest product.
“We don’t want to be looking down,” said Anderson. “We will continue to look ahead.”
