In September, Carnival Cruise Line celebrated its third annual Day of Play at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. The event featured a variety of Dr. Seuss-themed activities for patients and their families as part of the cruise line’s role as the hospital’s Official Celebration Partner. Highlights included a parade, story time, face painting, a photo booth, arts and crafts, giveaways, snacks and more.
Carnival officials presented St. Jude with a check for $5 million, representing the funds raised for the hospital over the past two years — two years ahead of schedule. The cruise line announced an additional $10 million goal by 2020.
