Collette Mystery Shoppers Reward Agents

Agents from around the country received cash gift cards on the spot with Collette Vacations' recent mystery shopper program. Undercover shoppers rewarded travel agents with $100 for promoting Collette as a vacation option when faux shoppers came into travel agencies to inquire about planning a vacation.

The mystery shopping program is part of the company's incentive campaign, which also awards agents with up to $500 for making either five bookings or booking 10 passengers for travel in 2011. Details of the program stated that mystery shoppers who inquired about an escorted tour could call, email or stop in on travel agencies across the U.S. and Canada. If any of Collette's products were offered as one of the choices, a $100 gift card was given to the agent instantly.

"This is a fun promotion for both the Collette mystery shoppers and the travel agents who win," said Frank Marini, vice president of sales at Collette. "But more importantly, it allows us to visit with agents and see them in action."

As Collette's incentive program moves forward, mystery shoppers will continue to award agents throughout the country. Some recent winners include Kim Wilson from Hollow Brook Travel in Fishkill, N.Y.; Julie Giardina of Park Forest Travel in Richton Park, Ill.; and Dolores Ferreira of Fantasy Travel in Bradenton, Fla.
