Melia Hotels International recently announced the appointment of Darious Deavours as director of group sales. In this position Deavours will take charge of Melia’s national accounts, with specific focus on the Southern states Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. He will also be responsible for groups, meetings, incentive sales and conventions. Prior to joining Melia, Deavours acted as group sales manager with Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
“Mr. Deavours joined the Melia Hotels International family during an integral time of the company’s growth and expansion,” said John Iannini, senior director of meetings & events with Melia Hotels International. “He is a keen professional who brings experience and knowledge in group sales, business development through prospecting, account management and client service to his role.”
