Last month, Alaska Airlines debuted its newest themed airplane, “Adventure of Disneyland Resort.” The Boeing 737 features characters from the animated film “Cars” and is the fifth plane to come out of a successful partnership between Disneyland Resort and Alaska Airlines.
Passengers onboard the plane’s first flight included four Make-A-Wish children from Washington and Alaska. The children and their families flew to Orange County, Calif., and spent several days at the Disneyland Resort. Accommodations at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel at the Resort were also provided.
“Adventure of Disneyland Resort is a great example of taking beloved, iconic Disney-Pixar characters and bringing them to life in new and unexpected ways,” said Sharon Siskie, vice president of travel industry sales with Disney Destinations. “It has been our great privilege to be part of this collaborative effort with Alaska Airlines, and we’re delighted that the inaugural flight created some very powerful memories for special guests from Make-A-Wish.”
Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington has been granting wishes since 1986 and,with the help of Alaska Airlines and Disney, 1,051 children and their families have been granted wish trips via the airline.
