In an effort to create positive change worldwide, adventure travel
company G Adventures collaborated with its nonprofit Planeterra
Foundation in the inaugural G Project event. Part of the G Project was
the Summit in the Jungle, a meeting in Costa Rica during which select
participants pitched ideas on how to help solve specific social and
environmental issues. Lee-Ann Gibbs, a volunteer with Samrakshak Samuha
Nepal, won the competition and a $25,000 development grant to bring her
project to life.
Gibbs’ project focuses on the growing tourist
industry in Nepal and how it can be leveraged to help train Nepal’s
human trafficking survivors. Through her project, survivors will gain
the skills and confidence necessary to work in the hospitality industry
and be economically independ
